Ascendancy is one of my earliest art galleries and holds a very special place in my heart. Created during an incredibly potent and transformative time in my life, it came in the wake of my divorce and the turmoil that followed. At the same time, my job was hit hard by layoffs, and it felt like everything around me was burning to the ground.
The phoenix imagery, which has always resonated deeply with me, became a central theme during this period. As part of my transformation, I tattooed my right arm with a phoenix on my shoulder, symbolizing the process of rising from the ashes. This gallery captures the essence of that feeling – the struggle, the destruction, and the rebirth.
Ascendancy is a visual representation of my attempt to rise from the ashes of my old life and rebuild stronger. It was an extremely powerful and transformative part of my journey, and these early art pieces reflect the raw emotions and resilience I experienced during that time.
