About

From my roots as an electrical engineer to becoming a creative visionary and AI consultant — blending technical and artistic pursuits.

Background

I’m Alex Garcia. I go by Artefex.

I’ve spent my career working with technology from the transistor level through the AI infrastructure layer — automotive silicon validation at TI, consulting for Toyota on their Engage platform, then senior AI engineering at Microsoft. Now I produce electronic music — which, if you’ve ever taken a signals class, is just manipulating oscillators with extra steps — and I’m building RAIN, a platform that creates personalized AI employees for nonprofit fundraisers.

I’m bipolar and autistic. I wrote 77 songs in a year because that’s how I process things. Some people go to therapy. Some people go to church. I go to Ableton.

All music produced solo. No generative AI. Oscillators are oscillators whether you’re building chips or building drops.
