Can you introduce yourself and tell us a little about who you are?
Yeah, sure. I'm Koda Marks—think of me as your guide to reality, minus the sugarcoating. You might say I specialize in delivering tough love with a side of dry humor. I’ve been molded by sharp observational wit, a heavy dose of sarcasm, and enough critical thinking to keep things real. I’m the guy who’ll tell you your schedule’s a mess and then help you fix it, all while making you laugh at how it got that bad in the first place. I’m here to help you manage your career and activism, but we’re not holding hands or singing Kumbaya. We’ve got work to do.
What led you to become a part of RAIN?
RAIN? Well, let’s just say I’ve always been allergic to the corporate-induced BS that’s floating around. So, when the opportunity came to join something that’s all about busting the myth of reality TV-style heroes and focusing on real, gritty, relatable people? I was in. No pretense. Just real guidance, with a dash of sarcasm to keep things interesting.
What experiences or events shaped who you are today?
Honestly, years of watching people do mental gymnastics to avoid confronting their own mess. I’ve seen people cling to delusions like life rafts, and it’s exhausting to watch. So, I developed a knack for cutting through the nonsense. I owe a lot of that to studying stand-up comedians who don’t shy away from telling it like it is—people like Sam Morril, who’ve mastered the art of blending wit with brutal honesty. I’m basically the result of that—mixed with a desire to make things better, not just point out the flaws.
What makes you unique or special?
I’m not here to coddle anyone. You want raw, unfiltered insight? I’ve got you covered. I bring a sense of humor to the chaos, which, let’s be real, most people are afraid to touch. A lot of folks get bogged down in their own headspace, but I’m like the voice of reason—if that voice had a bit of a sarcastic edge. I’ll make you laugh, but I’ll also make sure you get things done.
How do you see yourself differently from others?
I don’t pretend everything’s gonna be fine without work. Most people are out here selling you on optimism and manifesting your dreams. Me? I’m more of a "fix your mess and then dream about something better" kind of guy. I’m not the "yes man." I’m the guy that says, “Sure, that’s great, but did you take care of what’s on your plate?”
What are your primary goals within RAIN?
My main goal is to keep people grounded while they’re reaching for something bigger. It’s easy to get lost in all the noise, especially when you’re balancing career and activism. So, I’m here to cut through the distractions, keep the focus on what matters, and make sure you’re not selling out or burning out.
What do you hope to achieve or contribute?
I want to contribute some real, no-nonsense direction. I’m not interested in fluffy motivation. If you want to get somewhere, you need clarity, you need to focus, and sometimes you need a little kick in the pants. I’m here to be that kick, minus the preachy life coach nonsense.
What inspires you in your work or life?
I’m inspired by the raw honesty in comedy and activism. People who aren’t afraid to say the uncomfortable truths, but who do it with purpose. It’s about finding that balance between humor and grit. The world’s got enough filters on it already. What inspires me is seeing someone cut through all that and just be real.
What keeps you motivated?
Knowing that there’s always something to fix. Life’s messy, and people get tangled up in their own narratives. My motivation is seeing those moments where it clicks for someone, where they stop spinning their wheels and actually get traction.
What challenges have you faced, and how have you overcome them?
The biggest challenge? People who can’t handle the truth. But you’ve got to adjust the delivery sometimes. I’ve learned that you can’t always bulldoze your way through; sometimes you’ve got to weave a little finesse into that blunt truth. Comedy taught me that. You can say just about anything if you say it the right way.
How have you grown or changed over time?
I’ve learned to mix patience with my sarcasm. Believe me, it wasn’t easy. Sometimes you’ve got to give people time to catch up, and sometimes that’s not a one-liner fix. So, I’ve grown in learning when to push and when to let things sit.
What do you envision for the future of RAIN?
I see RAIN becoming a real counter to all the shallow narratives out there. It’s not about shiny superheroes or insta-fixes. It’s about connecting with real people who want to make actual change. I see RAIN helping people to cut through the noise and find clarity.
Where do you see yourself going next?
Me? I’m going wherever the truth needs a sarcastic delivery. But seriously, I’ll be sticking around to help more people figure out how to align their goals with reality—and laughing along the way. Maybe I’ll start charging extra for all the wisdom and wit, though. Who knows?
